Ground Turkey Burger

Healthy Lunch Under 30 Minutes

Ground Turkey Burger

Ingredients: Makes 8 servings

  • 2 lbs lean ground turkey

  • 1 onion, chopped fine

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 cup Panko or bread crumbs

  • 1 tbsp parsley

  • 1 tsp Goya® Adobo

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp black pepper Burger Toppings:

  • Whole wheat buns

  • 1/4 cup Cabot® Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • 1/4 medium avocado, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup spring mix salad, chopped

  • 1/4 medium tomato, sliced

  • 1 tbsp light olive oil mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp mustard

  • Optional: pickle or jalapeno pepper slices


Directions:

  1. In large bowl, mix ground turkey, chopped onion, Panko or bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt and pepper, Adobo, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 8 (4oz) patties.

  2. In skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook patties, turning once. Cook burgers to an internal temperature of 180°F. Remove and set aside.

    To Assemble Burgers:

  3. Dress whole wheat buns with mayonnaise, mustard, cheese, spring mix, tomato, avocado, and pickles.

  4. Serve with sweet potato fries, 1 serving of your favorite chips, or steamed vegetables.
